Hey Phillip, thanks. Well that's true, though I wish my father had been supportive back then about an artistic career. He's fine with my writing as a career now, though. On the other hand, I wouldn't change anything about the careers I've had. I learned something from each - which is important to find true career happiness.

I have your article in my queue to read, but at a glance, it looks great: very indepth. I'm glad you found happiness in writing. It's not easy, and freelancing is never stable. But I know I'm always happiest as a freelancer.

I loved this post, Raj. Can totally relate. A stable career and the social security benefits it brings is a priority here in the Philippines, where employment is always an issue. So my choice to go writing/blogging/working from home as my day job was also seen as a risky and quite stupid move. Tell you what, I'm pretty much satisfied where I stand now :D

If I had read this post sooner, I would've mentioned it in my related post, <a href="http://blog.corsarius.net/2007/04/23/the-balls-to-follow-the-bliss/" rel="nofollow">The Balls to Follow the Bliss</a>.

Btw, you and your brother are lucky to have a dad who appreciates art. Many fathers dont :)
